How to Start Up & Shut Down Your Spray Foam Equipment

Follow Nate, lead equipment tech at Oak Ridge Foam & Coating Systems Inc., for a step-by-step overview of how to startup and shut down a Winco Generator and spray foam rig.

Start Up the Spray Foam Equipment

  1. Turn your Winco generator power switch on. It takes about 10-15 seconds for the display panel screen to load.
  2. After the screen is done loading, turn it on manual mode. Let the generator run for a few minutes without any load to get it warmed up.
  3. After the warm up, flip all your breakers on.
  4. After the generator is fired up, head into the trailer and turn the machine on.
  5. Turn on the hose heat.
  6. It takes about 25 minutes for the hoses to reach the right temperature, so now is the time to prepare the spray area by laying down plastic, removing debris, etc.
  7. Once the hoses are heated, turn the main primary heaters on.
  8. Plug your transfer pumps in.
  9. Flip the supply levers to the open position.
  10. Pressurize up your machine.
  11. Make sure your machine is balanced.
  12. Do an offshoot.

Shut Down the Spray Foam Equipment

  1. Turn the heaters off on the front of your machine.
  2. Close your supply valves.
  3. Hit the park button before further shut down.
  4. Turn the pressure valves on the front of the machine to zero.
  5. Turn off your main power.
  6. Unplug your transfer pumps.
  7. Shut all breakers off on your generator and hit the red off button.
  8. Shut the controller power switch off to avoid a dead battery.
