How to Rebuild a Graco Fusion AP Spray Gun

Nate, lead equipment technician at Oak Ridge Foam & Coating Systems Inc., has recorded a tutorial to show you how to disassemble, clean, and reassemble your Graco Fusion Air Purge (AP) Spray Gun. 

Whether you’re an experienced spray foam applicator or just getting started, we’ll help you get your spray gun back to peak performance. 

Disassembly:

  1. Remove the air cap. 
  2. Detach the mix chamber:
  3. Remove the side seals:
  4. Disassemble the trigger assembly:
  5. Take apart the fluid head.
  6. Clean all parts. 

Reassembly:

  1. Reassemble the fluid head and reattach to the gun body. 
  2. Put the trigger pin and trigger back into position and secure with screws. 
  3. Replace the side seals and make sure they’re seated properly. 
  4. Attach the mix chamber. 
  5. Reattach the air cap to the mix chamber and tighten. 
  6. Apply Graco-approved lubricant to moving parts per the manufacturer’s instructions.

Final Checks:

  1. Make sure all spray gun parts are secured and aligned to minimize damage or issues. 
  2. Reconnect the air supply and perform a test spray to ensure the gun is working properly. 

Additional Maintenance Tips:

  • Clean your Graco gun after each use to prevent damage, clogs, and build-up.
  • Regularly check the gun for signs of wear and tear. Replace seals and other parts as needed.
  • Always lubricate moving parts after each use to ensure your gun operates properly.
  • Refer to the manufacturer’s manual for specific details and safety instructions.
